A Community Initiative by Kaizen Physical Therapy, Peoria, AZ

Mission Statement:
At Kaizen Physical Therapy, we believe in continuous improvement — not just in recovery, but in performance, health, and community. The Kaizen Running Club was founded by Dr. Ray Sumayo, PT, DPT to bring together runners of all levels who want to improve safely, train smarter, and enjoy the process of getting better every day.

Whether you’re training for your first 5K, a half marathon, or simply looking to stay active, this club is a place to connect, learn, and grow together.

💡 Our Philosophy

“Kaizen” means continuous improvement — the idea that small, consistent changes lead to long-term success.
Our club embodies that same mindset: showing up, working smart, and taking ownership of your health and performance.

🗓️ Weekly Meetups

Location: Peoria, AZ (rotating routes including paved roads, trails, and hill sessions)
When: Saturdays at 7:00 AM (Group Run)
Optional: Midweek workouts posted on Strava and Instagram

All paces are welcome. We have groups for walkers, joggers, and competitive runners.

🧠 What We Offer

  • Community-based group runs and accountability

  • Coaching tips on pacing, injury prevention, and recovery

  • Workshops on strength training and mobility for runners

  • Optional clinics hosted by Kaizen Physical Therapy (e.g., Running Form 101, Preventing Shin Splints, Improving Hill Endurance)

(We recommend participants wear appropriate footwear, stay hydrated, and run within their limits.)
